Andrew Esparza

The Andrew Esparza Memorial Foundation honors the legacy of Officer Andrew Esparza, Irving Police Department Officer #966, who died in the line of duty on April 13, 2007. The foundation is dedicated to serving the community in his memory, bringing people together through events and supporting students through scholarships. Scholarship giving is a central priority, reflecting Andrew’s passion for helping young people in need.

A key annual offering is the Andrew Esparza 5K, a run and walk that raises support for college scholarships for Burleson ISD students and children of Irving police officers. The foundation also holds community events and sells products, with proceeds helping fund scholarships and activities that unite the community for a good cause. Visitors can support its work by donating, shopping through the foundation’s online store, registering for the 5K, or learning about its events and sponsors. Through these efforts, the foundation keeps Andrew’s memory present while creating practical opportunities for students and encouraging community involvement.
