ANEMOON is a dedicated organization in the Netherlands focused on the protection and preservation of marine and freshwater biodiversity. It brings together divers, beach observers, and volunteers who engage in research on the country's rich marine flora and fauna, as well as land and freshwater organisms. The name ANEMOON reflects its core values: Analysis, Education, and Marine Ecological Research.
The foundation undertakes vital monitoring projects that rely on observations collected by participants, which are subsequently validated by experts. Through its various initiatives, ANEMOON seeks to increase knowledge and appreciation of underwater nature, contributing to national conservation efforts, including the European Habitat Directive.
Volunteers can participate in several projects, focusing on species like the lobster or the reed corbicula, and learn how to accurately record their observations.
