YPJ, the all-female military force defending the Rojava revolution, stands as a beacon of courage and resistance on the front lines. Founded in 2013 in response to the Syrian conflict, YPJ fights for the freedom and self-administration of the people of Rojava. Engaged in various military operations against extremist groups like ISIS and Al-Nusra, YPJ gained international recognition during the liberation of Kobane.
Embodying the vision of Abdullah Öcalan, YPJ promotes a liberal, grassroots democratic, and anti-patriarchal paradigm. A recent short film released on International Women's Day celebrates YPJ's unwavering commitment to gender equality, self-determination, and freedom. By showcasing the bravery and determination of its fighters, YPJ continues to inspire women worldwide in their own struggles for empowerment and liberation.
Through their actions and ethos, YPJ symbolizes the resilience and strength of women in conflict zones
