ANFFAS Avezzano

ANFFAS Avezzano is a nonprofit association dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders, and supporting their families. Its work is guided by principles of equal opportunity, participation and respect for individual freedom. The organization provides educational assistance, home care, day-centre services and support through a family home, coordinating access with local authorities where required. Its specialist staff also develop individualized life plans, listen to families and encourage people using its services to help shape and assess their support.

Across the Marsica area, ANFFAS Avezzano operates centres and workshops where participants create products with support from staff and volunteers. Activities include making ceramic gifts, plaster objects, invitation cards and beeswax candles, as well as growing aromatic plants in a greenhouse. Products made in the day centres can be viewed through online showcases. The association also promotes craft, social, cultural and sporting initiatives, training and inclusion projects, and works with partner organizations, including the Fondazione Dopo di Noi, which supports people with disabilities who have lost their parents.
