ANffAS Policoro

ANffas Policoro ETS-APS is a local association in Policoro, Italy, supporting families and people with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. The organisation traces its work in the area to 2004, when it operated as the volunteer association IRIS, and was formally established as ANFFAS Policoro in 2014. It became an ETS-APS in 2023 following registration under Italy’s Third Sector framework and is part of the ANFFAS Puglia board.

The association promotes inclusion, protects the rights of people with disabilities, and supports families. Its activities include creative and recreational workshops, conferences on disability, and social transport for people with disabilities and people experiencing financial hardship. Its Disabilmentestate summer programme offers varied activities, including canoeing, sailing, horse riding, beach games and, when appropriate, speech therapy and water-based psychomotor workshops. The organisation also runs PeperonAut and a project to support employment and self-employment opportunities for young people with autism. ANffas Policoro welcomes volunteers and donations to support its projects, including plans for a stable space where adults can develop independence and prepare for life beyond family care.
