An Gairdín Beo is a vibrant and inclusive community garden located in the heart of Carlow Town. Spanning two acres, this garden was established in 2015 through the collaborative efforts of dedicated volunteers and the Sisters of Mercy from St Leo's Convent. The garden offers a range of facilities including various garden areas, a therapeutic garden, and a newly refurbished Community Building that can be booked for events.

At An Gairdín Beo, inclusiveness, active participation, and collaborative leadership are at the core of their values. The Board of Directors oversees the governance of the organization, ensuring its financial sustainability and protecting its ethos. The Garden Committee, comprised of volunteers with diverse expertise, meets regularly to develop and plan the garden's ongoing activities.

Volunteers, including Tús and CE Workers, play a vital role in carrying out the garden's activities and projects. Visitors are drawn to An Gairdín Beo for various reasons, from enjoying the serene green spaces to participating in organized events and activities. The garden also has a rich history, with the two buildings on site previously used by St Leo's College staff and pupils.
