Angela Martin

Angela Martin is a historian and writer whose work focuses on Nazi forced labor, the history of Berlin, and the history of cultural policy in the German Democratic Republic. She offers historical research and analysis of archival sources, as well as the identification and interviewing of eyewitnesses. Her services also include developing and producing historical exhibitions, from concept and text writing to image editing, organization, and catalogue preparation, working with a competent team.

Martin writes scholarly and journalistic contributions for radio and print media. She also translates scholarly texts on Nazi history from English and provides specialist proofreading and editorial services. Her exhibition projects include work on forced labor, colonial history along Berlin’s waterfront, and Markthalle IX in Kreuzberg.

Her current book project, Coffee, Jazz and Politics, explores Berlin’s Café Moka Efti establishments and their founder, Giovanni Eftimiades, in the context of the city’s history from the Weimar Republic through the Nazi era. The book is planned for publication in 2027.
