Angelini La Fondazione

Fondazione Giovanni Angelini is a cultural and research foundation based in Belluno, dedicated to the study and appreciation of mountain regions. Established around the collections assembled by physician, mountaineer, CAI member and writer Giovanni Angelini, it preserves books, maps and images relating to the mountains and supports activities that connect culture, knowledge and life in the Alps. Its work includes a library with historical and contemporary collections, periodicals and archival materials, alongside access to catalogues and research resources.

The foundation also organizes geography courses, training and hospitality initiatives, and develops projects on subjects such as alpine archaeology, mountain tourism, landscape, local communities and the impact of extreme weather. Its educational and cultural programme includes work with schools and other audiences. Visitors can explore publications through its online bookshop, including titles produced by the foundation, and use digital resources such as the web app for the Valentino Panciera Besarel archive, whose documents have been inventoried and digitized
