Angelman

Angelman Verein Österreich is a small, volunteer-run Austrian association supporting people with Angelman syndrome and their families. The organization raises awareness of this rare genetic condition and works to make the needs and experiences of people with disabilities more visible. It offers telephone advice and information, and connects families with a community that understands the realities of caring for a child with Angelman syndrome. Its activities include membership, information resources, public outreach, and participation in the Angelman Syndrome Alliance and International Angelman Day.

A central initiative is Haus der Engel, a planned residential project intended to provide people with significant support needs with long-term security, care, and quality of life. The association raises funds for this project and family support through donations, charity events, and its annual stand at Vienna’s Alt Wiener Christkindlmarkt, where visitors can purchase chocolate specialties and sparkling wine. It also shares news, campaigns, and ways to get involved through its website and social media.
