ASV Bodenwöhr is a local angling club that has leased the Hammersee for decades and helps care for the lake and its surroundings. The association welcomes anglers as well as other visitors, including swimmers and people out for a walk, and aims to make their time at the lake enjoyable and relaxing. Its work includes regular shoreline clean-ups and community work efforts to maintain the area’s cleanliness.
The club also organizes fisheries management activities, including whitefish-control fishing, intended to reduce the whitefish population and nutrient input and support long-term water quality. More broadly, ASV Bodenwöhr works to preserve and promote a balanced ecosystem at the Hammersee. The website provides information about the lake, fishing in Bodenwöhr, local waters and youth activities, and includes a section for fishing permits.
Visitors can also browse photographs and find the association on Facebook and Instagram. Through lake stewardship, fisheries management and visitor information, ASV Bodenwöhr supports the Hammersee as a place for both recreation and responsible angling
