ANHD, the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development, is dedicated to building the strength of the community development movement in New York City. As a member organization of community groups across the city, ANHD uses research, advocacy, and grassroots organizing to support its members in their efforts to create equitable and just neighborhoods for all New Yorkers. With a belief that housing justice is economic justice is racial justice, ANHD values justice, equity, and opportunity.

Since its establishment in 1974, ANHD has played a vital role in making New York City's community development and grassroots neighborhood-based groups among the most effective in the country. ANHD provides comprehensive training, capacity-building programs, and high-impact policy research to empower its non-profit members. ANHD's remarkable accomplishments include the construction of over 123,000 units of affordable housing, preservation of thousands of at-risk affordable apartments and homes, and shaping the housing and economic development policy landscape to better serve low- and moderate-income New Yorkers.

Today, ANHD remains fully committed to supporting member organizations as they work tirelessly in marginalized and distressed neighborhoods, directly impacting the lives of approximately 450,000 low- and middle-income New Yorkers annually
