The Alberta New Home Warranty Program

The Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) provides warranty protection and support for homeowners and builders across Alberta. Serving the province since 1974, it introduced Canada’s first home warranty protection and describes itself as a trusted partner with more than 50 years of experience. Its offerings include pre-possession protection for people planning a new build, new home warranty insurance covering homeowners from handover, and renovation warranties for home improvement projects. The program also lists extended warranty products and services.

ANHWP supports homeowners throughout the homeownership journey with guidance on preparing for inspections, understanding coverage, maintaining a home, managing indoor humidity and surface water, moving, and filing claims. Customer care includes frequently asked questions and information about claim resolution options. For builders, the organization offers membership, a builder directory, education and industry training, certifications and designations, custom training, benchmarking reports, and construction performance resources. It also shares home care information and industry updates.
