About Australian National Imams Council
Anic, the Australian National Imams Council, is the central and peak Islamic body in Australia. Established in 2006, it brings together Muslim Imams, scholars, and clerics from across the country to preserve the mainstream understanding and teachings of Islam. ANIC represents the wider interests of the Australian Muslim community and fosters unity among the Councils of Imams in different states and territories.
With a vision to be a leading national body representing mainstream Islam in Australia, ANIC utilizes the expertise of its members to contribute to the betterment of the Australian Muslim community and society at large. The council provides religious leadership, rulings, and services to the Muslim community while promoting harmony and cooperation with other faith communities. Membership is open to qualified Imams actively involved in the affairs of the Muslim community, and currently, ANIC has over 250 registered Imams from all states and territories.
Through its various services, such as ANIC Halal Card, Islamic and Legal Wills, counselling, foster care, and more, ANIC strives to meet the needs of the community and ensure the spread of true Islamic teachings
