Anima is a browser-based world-building toolkit for tabletop game masters, writers, and game developers. It helps storytellers create and organize settings, then use them during play, all in one place. Its interconnected wiki supports entries for characters, locations, factions, and items, with Markdown formatting, folders, backlinks, and full-text search.

Users can map a world’s history with custom calendars, eras, and timelines, and link events to wiki entries. For sessions, Anima offers campaigns, character and NPC records, an initiative tracker with health and conditions, a dice roller, and session notes connected to the wiki. The platform also includes more than 20 free generators for names, NPCs, quests, encounters, dungeons, traps, treasure, magic items, and other game content, plus tools such as a D&D dice roller and initiative tracker.

Anima is free to use without an account, installation, or subscription. Worlds are saved in the user’s browser, and backups can be exported. The site also publishes guides and tutorials for D&D and tabletop role-playing games
