About AnimalWelfareLeague
The Animal Welfare League (AWL) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1935 and dedicated to improving the lives of animals in its care. Its work centers on helping pets find safe, loving homes while providing practical support for animals and their owners. AWL offers animal adoptions for pets of all breeds and ages, with adoptions available at its Chicago Ridge location.
A careful adoption process is intended to help each animal find a suitable, lasting home. The organization also accepts stray and abandoned animals whenever possible, providing care and assessment while working to reunite them with their owners or place them in appropriate homes. Its low-cost public clinic provides services including general examinations, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, X-rays, AVID microchipping, and dental cleanings.
Through its Special Needs Animals program, AWL provides extra care to animals requiring additional support. The organization also offers programs and services such as humane investigations, rescue, volunteer opportunities, and resources for people who have found or lost a pet
