The Web Version of the Livestock Terminology Dictionary is an initiative by the Japan Society of Animal Science aimed at fostering knowledge sharing within the field of livestock. Launched in March 2019, this online resource serves as an accessible repository for information related to livestock, enabling users to search for terms via keyword search or alphabetical indexes. Building upon the original print publication released in 2001, the online version has evolved to meet the growing demand for updated terminology amidst advancements in livestock research and practices.

Currently, it manages approximately 4,210 entries and 222 files, all organized for easy navigation in both hiragana and English. The platform, developed using the open-source MediaWiki software, emphasizes enhanced content through images and illustrations, making it a valuable tool for research and education. Funding from advertisements helps maintain the site's free access, ensuring it continues to serve as a reliable resource for students, researchers, and industry professionals in the realm of animal science
