Animated Knots by Grog is an educational resource dedicated to helping people learn how to tie knots through clear, step-by-step animations. The site presents ropes tying themselves, highlighting the essential movements so visitors can follow along and practice. Its extensive knot library serves a wide range of activities, including boating, fishing, climbing, arboriculture, horse and farm work, scouting, household tasks, search and rescue, and surgery. It also covers decorative knots, rope care, and neckties, with guides for tying different styles of tie.

Visitors can browse knots by activity or by type, such as bends, loops, hitches, mats, splices, and stoppers. For beginners, the site offers basic knots and introductory guidance; other features include a daily featured knot, a blog, references, terminology, and information about rope properties and materials. Animated Knots also offers apps and related educational resources. The site cautions that rope use can be hazardous and that knot descriptions cannot account for every factor affecting safety.
