Animazement

Animazement is a vibrant, all-volunteer anime convention held annually in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is dedicated to celebrating Japanese visual culture in its many forms. Founded in 1997 by the Triangle Area Anime Society, Animazement has grown into a cornerstone event for fans of all ages. Supported by the nonprofit Educational Growth Across Oceans (EGAO), the convention's mission is to introduce participants to Japanese language and culture through anime and manga.

Over three lively days each spring, attendees can engage in a variety of activities that showcase anime, manga, video games, and J-pop/J-rock, all within a family-friendly festival atmosphere. Events include panels, cosplay contests, game rooms, and cultural performances, fostering a sense of community and shared passion among fans. Animazement relies on ticket sales and donations from its enthusiastic base to operate, making it a true collective effort. This immersive celebration not only entertains but also enriches attendees' understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture.
