Anna Keen

Anna Keen Artist is the practice and website of British artist Anna Keen, whose work explores the meeting points between nature and human-made environments. For around 30 years, Keen has painted peripheral wastelands and intertidal zones, observing what she describes as nature’s beauty and humanity’s architecture of power and waste. Her years living in places including Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, London, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Arran and the Alps have informed this sustained visual inquiry.

The website presents Keen’s oil paintings, ink works, sketchbooks and maps, alongside material from her wandering and art projects. It also highlights her participation in exhibitions, including The Spirit of Francesco: Masterpieces of Contemporary Figuration, a 2026 exhibition in Umbria featuring 28 international figurative artists. Beyond her fine-art practice, Keen occasionally creates cartoons for international magazines. Her latest book is London – The Metamorphosis.
