Annalan Kartano

Annalan Kartano Oy is a Finnish family-owned company founded on 26 December 1918 and registered in the Finnish Trade Register in 1919. Today, it manages forest assets in southeastern Finland and supports the community and heritage of the Annalan Pelkonen family. The company’s roots lie with Ruusu and Lauri Kustaa Pelkonen, who married in 1883 and made Annalan Manor, Ruusu’s family home on Sorola Island in Lake Ladoga, their home. After Lauri’s death in 1900, Ruusu and their 13 children faced significant difficulties, which they overcame through cooperation and enterprise. As adults, the surviving children acquired the manor’s lands and established the company, with shares initially divided equally among ten siblings.
