Anna-Liisa Rewellin säätiö is a Finnish foundation established in Helsinki in 1944 to support the wellbeing and educational activities of naval personnel and to recognize women who contributed to the welfare of soldiers. Its work continues in line with its founding purpose, with updated rules directing grants to recreational and educational activities for serving members of the Finnish Navy and, according to need and available funds, to people who have worked with the Coastal Soldiers’ Home Association.
The foundation provides several thousand euros in annual support to improve conscripts’ quality of life. Its grants help fund sports equipment, televisions, games and other resources, and support conscripts’ hobbies and opportunities to try different sports. It also awards scholarships to students on reserve officer courses at the Finnish Naval Academy. Support applications, including their justifications, should be sent in writing to the foundation’s chairperson.
The foundation’s logo was designed by Niko Alajoki, who served as a conscript graphic artist at Upinniemi.
