Anna the scientist

Anna the Scientist is the professional platform of Anna Monnier, an engineer, educator and doctoral researcher in psychiatric sciences at the Université de Montréal. Her work explores social neuroscience, including how social interactions shape our experience of the world and how brains, hearts and bodies may synchronize during interaction. She also draws on experience in sustainable energy projects and teaching ecological transition in engineering education.

Anna combines research, education and collaboration to make complex ideas accessible while encouraging critical thinking. Her approach highlights not only scientific findings, but also the questions, methods and challenges behind them. She works with partner schools and project teams to connect science and society, bring different perspectives together and develop shared, meaningful goals.

Her services span ecological and social transition, cognitive neuroscience and education. They include designing conferences and educational workshops, creating accessible learning events, developing tailored curricula and interventions, and organizing summer schools. Anna also offers design fiction and imagination-based activities, and has experience co-leading an educational chair and creating a sustainable innovation challenge.
