ANNIE, the Asian Network of News & Information Educators, is a nonprofit organization based in Hong Kong. Our mission is to connect and collaborate with educators, journalists, media professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders in Asia to promote media and information literacy. We believe in the importance of understanding the complexities of the information ecology in the Asian region.

Through our network, we facilitate the exchange of ideas, develop educational resources, and conduct research on media literacy. Our teaching materials, including lesson plans, online courses, explainer videos, and lecture slides, are available online and regularly updated. We also publish a newsletter, "Annie Talk," that covers various teaching activities, assignment ideas, and upcoming events related to news, media literacy, fact-checking, and journalism.

In addition, ANNIE operates "Annie Lab," a student-driven newsroom in collaboration with HKU Journalism at the University of Hong Kong. We are a verified signatory of the International Fact-checking Network.

Our organization is guided by an Advisory Council consisting of external advisors who provide strategic direction and leadership. Together with our council members, partners, and supporters, we strive to build a culture of connected instructors and inquisitive learners across borders.
