About ANPUD
ANPUD is a regional community-led organization in Asia that focuses on community empowerment, human rights, and evidence-based drug laws and policies. It originated from the "First Consultation on the Prevention of HIV Related to Drug Use" in Goa, India, in 2008, where Asian drug user activists gathered to develop the Goa Declaration. This declaration built upon the International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD) Vancouver Declaration.
ANPUD works to support resilient communities and networks in Asia that have been deprived of their fundamental rights due to drug use. They advocate for the rights of individuals who use drugs, aiming to promote representation and coordination at decision-making forums. Through the establishment of national networks, ANPUD strives for the harmonization of policies, decriminalization of drug use, reduced stigma, and universal access to evidence-based harm reduction approaches.
With strategic alliances and collaborations, ANPUD actively contributes to the regional and global response to HIV and drug use
