ANRHA

The Archives numériques de la Révolution haïtienne (ANRHA) is a digital documentation platform dedicated to the history of Haiti, formerly the French colony of Saint-Domingue. Its foundation aims to make historical knowledge more accessible and support research into European colonialism and the enslavement of Black people in the Americas, especially in Saint-Domingue. The platform brings together archival material held by repositories in Europe and the Americas, particularly French archives, and currently provides access to more than 75,000 pages.

Researchers, students and other visitors can explore historical manuscripts and printed documents, archival inventories, maps, plans, photographs, engravings and databases. Featured collections include records relating to colonial administration, the Church and slavery, and the private Carnot collection, which contains more than 4,000 pages, including material associated with the Abbé Grégoire. ANRHA also offers a document transcription service in several languages; requests are handled after a quotation is approved. By organizing and digitizing these resources, the platform enables users around the world to consult important sources remotely and discover materials relevant to the Haitian Revolution and colonial history.
