Anthony Alvarado

Anthony Alvarado is a speaker, photographer, writer, and community builder whose work centers on storytelling, human connection, and resilience. As founder of RISE TOGETHER and creator of the UNBROKEN Project, he helps young people, schools, organizations, and communities engage with challenging topics, including overdose, mental health, recovery, grief, and life’s hardest moments. His work began with sharing his own recovery story in 2013 and grew into a national effort that has reached more than 500,000 young people and community members. It has also contributed to peer-reviewed research involving 10,438 students.

Anthony offers keynote speaking, school assemblies, conference presentations, coaching, and consulting, as well as photography and community exhibitions that bring personal stories to life. The UNBROKEN Project shares portraits and testimonies from families affected by overdose loss, creating opportunities for reflection and connection. Across these different forms of work, Anthony aims to help people feel seen, less alone, and able to take meaningful action. His work has been featured by outlets including Forbes, USA Today, NPR, PBS, and Variety.
