Antike Kunst

The Vereinigung der Freunde antiker Kunst is an association dedicated to sharing knowledge of ancient cultures and the findings of archaeological research with a wider public. It connects people interested in antiquity through public activities, specialist publications and regional sections. The association organises lectures, guided tours and study trips, offering opportunities to explore archaeology and ancient art. Its programme features current events and recommended exhibitions, as well as an archive of past activities and trips.

A central part of its publishing work is the scholarly journal Antike Kunst. The association also publishes supplements and reports on Swiss excavations in the Mediterranean region, covering archaeological projects in Greece, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus and Albania. Its website provides publication information, author guidelines, excavation reports, downloads and a shop. Members can participate through sections in Basel, Bern–Biel–Solothurn, Freiburg, Zurich, Lausanne and Geneva. The organisation invites new members and accepts donations and other forms of support.
