Atelier d’Architecture Antoine de Gironde is a Versailles-based architecture practice founded in 2015 by architect Antoine de Gironde. The studio specialises in restoring and adapting historic buildings, working on properties dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries in Versailles, Paris and across Île-de-France. Its clients include private owners, co-ownership associations and institutional organisations.
The Atelier provides full architectural project management for heritage restoration, building maintenance and rehabilitation, as well as extensions and additional storeys. Its work begins with careful research, archival study and on-site surveys to understand each building’s history and architectural qualities. Projects are developed in accordance with heritage requirements and in dialogue with France’s heritage architects.
The team coordinates work ranging from structural repairs and roofing to decorative features, custom joinery and artistic metalwork. It works with specialist craftspeople and favours traditional materials such as lime, plaster, mineral pigments and wood. The studio aims to preserve historic character while making buildings suitable for contemporary use.
