ANWB AutoMaatje is a unique transportation service dedicated to ensuring mobility for less mobile individuals in the Netherlands. Established in 2015, this initiative connects voluntary drivers with their own vehicles to community members who face transportation challenges due to age or health issues. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, ANWB AutoMaatje has successfully facilitated nearly a million rides, helping to prevent isolation among the elderly and those with disabilities.
The service operates across various locations, allowing participants to easily find local service points through an interactive map. Riders contribute a nominal fee to cover driver expenses per kilometer, ensuring accessibility and affordability without requiring ANWB membership. In addition to transport services, ANWB offers a wide range of products including insurance, vehicles, travel options, and leisure activities tailored to meet the needs of its diverse customer base. Volunteers can become part of this community-driven initiative, further enriching the lives of local residents.
