Any Nou Xinès amb Barcelona

Any Nou Xinès amb Barcelona is a citywide initiative that brings together Chinese and Catalan communities to celebrate Chinese New Year and share Chinese culture with the public. Created through the collaboration of numerous local associations and the Huaxing Association of Artists, the initiative receives support from the Confucius Institute Foundation of Barcelona, Casa Asia, Barcelona City Council and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Barcelona.

Its programme combines cultural celebrations with opportunities for community participation. Activities include a Chinese New Year festival, a gastronomic and cultural fair, related events and the Festa dels Fanalets, or Lantern Festival. The initiative also shares photographs and posters from past editions, helping audiences explore the event’s history and atmosphere. It invites organisations to submit activities for inclusion in future programmes and provides educational resources, including stories and legends for schools. With events and information presented in Catalan, Spanish and Chinese, Any Nou Xinès amb Barcelona offers residents and visitors ways to experience the traditions of Chinese New Year together.
