About AOECS-GlutenFreeAlliance
Gluten Free Alliance | Brussels, part of the Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS), is a renowned brand dedicated to helping individuals with coeliac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) throughout Europe and beyond. As an umbrella organization for European national coeliac societies, Gluten Free Alliance aims to represent its 38 member societies on an international platform. With a strong commitment to raising awareness of coeliac disease and fostering essential research for diagnosis and management, Gluten Free Alliance collaborates with European and international institutions and coeliac organizations.
They work towards ensuring the safety, availability, and proper labeling of gluten-free products, promoting multi-national research projects, exchanging information on coeliac disease and gluten intolerance, and enhancing the skills and knowledge of newer coeliac societies. Gluten Free Alliance actively participates in sessions of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, contributing to the improvement of food standards to protect the gluten-intolerant population. Additionally, the organization offers a gluten-free certification program, licensing products that meet their stringent Gluten Free Addendum and the AOECS Standard.
