Aosta Città Diffusa is a contemporary theatre festival that explores the city and the lives of the people who inhabit it. Founded in 2021, it began as an experiment in finding new ways to experience and think about Aosta, responding to the loss of public space during the lockdowns. Across five editions, the festival has engaged with the city’s changing rhythms, spaces and aspirations, creating opportunities for artistic exploration and community connection.
Curated by Creature Montane APS in collaboration with theatre company Palinodie, it is led by artistic directors Verdiana Vono and Stefania Tagliaferri. The festival combines theatre with reflection, shared experiences and the building of relationships in urban spaces. From 2026, its extended format will take place every two years as a sustainability-focused choice.
In the intervening years, the programme will be condensed into a single day. The 2026 event, “Una giornata da ricordare,” is scheduled for 25 July in Aosta, with support from the Municipality of Aosta
