AP3E

AP3E, the Portuguese Association for the Study and Engineering of Explosives, is a nonprofit technical and scientific association of public utility, founded in 1992. It brings together organisations and individuals involved in the manufacture, transport and use of explosives, as well as research, education, quality control, prevention and safety. Its mission is to advance discussion of technical and scientific issues relating to explosives, pyrotechnic substances, propellants and their applications, while supporting improved quality standards, professional training and workplace safety.

As a sectoral standards body, AP3E coordinates and promotes technical committees focused on civil-use explosives, pyrotechnics and potentially explosive atmospheres. It also participates in national transport and standards groups and contributes to the European Federation of Explosives Engineers. The association organises and supports technical events, seminars and training-related initiatives on topics such as rock blasting, product traceability, CE marking and safe handling. Its publications include Detónica, a Portuguese magazine covering explosives and pyrotechnics, and a manual for explosives operators.
