APACH

APACH (Association de Plein Air Colmar Horbourg-Wihr) is a canoe and kayak club based in Horbourg-Wihr, near Colmar in Alsace. For more than 30 years, it has helped people discover and enjoy paddling, offering activities for members, visitors and groups. Its club welcomes children from age eight to learn through games and exercises, while older paddlers can join the competition group, adult leisure group or Elles-de-l’Ill, a rehabilitation program for women affected by breast cancer.

Members can practice throughout the year across disciplines including river descent, touring, slalom, kayak polo, playboating and sprint racing. The club has around 200 canoes, kayaks and paddleboards in a range of types and sizes. From May to October, visitors can rent a canoe or kayak for an independent outing through the Alsatian plain; the service is open daily in summer, with booking recommended.

APACH also hosts schools, holiday centres, camps and other organizations at its watersports base, with activities led by instructors and reservations required, subject to availability
