Apae Padova

APAE APS is a nonprofit herpetological and aquariological association based in Padua, Italy. Founded in 1989, it brings together enthusiasts and experts to promote the study of reptiles and amphibians, protect wildlife and natural environments, and encourage practical, respectful coexistence between people and animals. Its work includes responding to requests from authorities to help recover exotic and wild herpetofauna, identifying species, supporting responsible adoptions, and developing charitable and conservation projects.

The association also provides public education through outreach, school and museum lessons, and activities at specialist fairs, while collaborating with law enforcement and institutions. APAE shares information through articles and educational resources on animal care, terrarium conditions, local species, and conservation challenges. Its website features species guides covering snakes, lizards, geckos, amphibians and other animals, alongside distribution maps and practical guidance for responsible husbandry.

Members can take part in thematic discussions, volunteer on projects, or support the association through annual membership. APAE’s initiatives include Snake Rescue and the developing TartaRescue project, focused on turtle rescue and adoption
