APATRIS 21 is a nonprofit social solidarity institution based in the Algarve, Portugal, supporting people with Down syndrome and other intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as their families. Founded in 2000 by parents and education professionals, the association works to promote inclusion, well-being, autonomy and equal opportunities. Its mission brings together health, education and professional integration, while raising public awareness of the abilities and potential of people with cognitive disabilities.

APATRIS 21 offers psychological support, training for educators, inclusion activities, awareness events and family consultancy. It also shares information and resources about Down syndrome and encourages cooperation among families, health and education professionals, public bodies and the wider community. The association aims to develop further health and education projects, alongside vocational training and residential support initiatives.

Guided by values including respect, trust, responsibility, professionalism, confidentiality and equality, APATRIS 21 welcomes financial and volunteer support to help advance its work and strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities throughout the Algarve
