The Chinese Taipei Animal Protection Association is a nonprofit animal welfare organization founded on June 10, 1960, and described as Taiwan’s first animal protection group. Its work combines public education, animal care, and community programs that promote responsible treatment of animals. The association operates the Bali Animal Shelter, which houses rescued and homeless animals and introduces them to prospective adopters. It also shares information about adoption, animal rescue, and welfare resources.

The organization reports helping bring about Taiwan’s Wildlife Conservation Act and Animal Protection Act in 1998. Its ongoing initiatives include a pet food bank, a volunteer bank, fundraising for sterilization of pet dogs, and the Dog Brings Prosperity program. Through these efforts, it supports animal welfare groups, provides food and funding, encourages responsible pet care, and arranges foster care for shelter dogs. The association also conducts animal protection education in Taipei schools, supports medical care for older dogs and cats, and works with community partners. Donations, volunteer participation, educational resources, publications, and charity-shop purchases help support its activities.
