The Associação de Paralisia Cerebral de Guimarães (APCG) is a Portuguese private social solidarity institution supporting people with cerebral palsy and their families. Established in 1994, it began operating in 1995 with a rehabilitation centre serving Guimarães and nearby municipalities, later extending its work to Vizela and Felgueiras. Its mission is to make a positive difference in people’s lives by promoting inclusion, rehabilitation and quality of life.
APCG offers four social support services: a Rehabilitation Centre, Early Childhood Intervention, a Centre for Activities for Capacity Building and Inclusion, and a Residential Home. Its clinical and therapeutic services include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech and occupational therapy, psychology, neurology, nutrition, nursing and social work. The association also provides assistive-product support and activities such as inclusive dance, music therapy, yoga, therapeutic gardening, boccia and Snoezelen sensory stimulation. Through its services and activities, APCG creates opportunities for participation, development and wellbeing. The association invites people to support its work and become members, helping contribute to a more accessible future.
