About APCO
APCO – Associação de Paralisia Cerebral Odemira is a nonprofit association based in Odemira, Portugal, dedicated to promoting social inclusion and quality of life for people with disabilities, people at risk of developmental difficulties, and their families. Its work is grounded in participation, individual strengths and rights, and engagement with the wider community. Founded in 2001 as a local branch of the Portuguese Cerebral Palsy Association, it became an autonomous regional nucleus in 2002 and adopted its current name and association status in 2004.
APCO was established to address the needs of people with motor disabilities or multiple disabilities who lacked suitable local support, including those leaving mainstream education or living at home without access to services. Its activities include social responses, services and community projects. The Centre for Inclusion Support (CAI) makes equipment available for temporary use, while the project “Grão a grão se conta uma história” has received social-cause funding
