APCP, the Portuguese Political Science Association, is a professional association bringing together professors and researchers in political science in Portugal. Its work supports the study and development of the discipline through specialist sections, academic events, awards, and information about education and research. Its sections cover areas including public administration and policy, African and European studies, local governance and politics, political parties, and international relations.

APCP organizes a biennial congress and other activities, including conferences led by its sections. It also awards a prize recognizing doctoral theses in political science and its related branches and subfields. Members receive relevant information and content, and may benefit from discounts on congress registration, section activities, and some Portuguese specialist journal subscriptions.

The association also provides information about political science education in Portugal, from secondary-school programmes to undergraduate, postgraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies. Through its news, congress announcements, academic resources, and membership network, APCP connects researchers and promotes engagement with political science across the country.
