About Africa Public Health Foundation
Africa Public Health Foundation is a platform for collaboration and philanthropy that aims to create a healthy, productive, and prosperous Africa. Working closely with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the foundation's mission is to forge partnerships and mobilize resources to support critical public health initiatives. They prioritize health emergency preparedness and response, surveillance systems, disease predictions, coordination and response to emergencies, risk communication, public health workforce development, leadership development, and capacity building.
The foundation was launched in September 2019 and has since raised over US$20 million in grant commitments for COVID-19 response work and health system strengthening. By focusing on resilience and sustainability, Africa Public Health Foundation aims to strengthen national health systems and address local public health priorities
