APKF, the Foundation for the Development of Financial Culture, is a Hungarian public-benefit foundation established in 1991 by the International Bankárképző Center, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the Hungarian Banking Association, and the Ministry of Finance. Its mission is to strengthen financial literacy and support financial education, training, and research in Hungary. The foundation promotes publications and teaching materials, economic and social science research, and analysis of financial conditions and current socioeconomic challenges.
It also supports access to professional books and journals, improved technical resources for financial education, and further training for educators and practitioners. Its activities encourage understanding of how financial institutions and systems work and foster international professional exchange, including opportunities for students to gain experience abroad. To advance these aims, APKF awards scholarships, funds grant applications, provides financial or in-kind assistance, and makes expertise available.
The foundation became a registered public-benefit organization in 2000. Its website provides organizational information, governing documents, and annual public-benefit and financial reports
