The Association of Professional Landscape Designers California Chapter (APLD CA) is a professional organization dedicated to raising standards in landscape design and promoting recognition of designers as qualified professionals. It supports members through international certification programs, continuing education, mentoring, networking, business promotion, and professional development opportunities. The chapter also provides information about business discounts, sponsors, and events.

APLD CA promotes resilient, sustainable outdoor environments suited to California’s diverse climates. Its resources address water-wise horticulture, fire-resistant design, and the use of appropriate hardscape materials to help reduce wildfire risk. The chapter offers workshops, seminars, videos, a design handbook, and California Landscape Design Magazine, which features projects and ideas for outdoor living. Its event calendar connects members with local and regional networking and education opportunities.

For homeowners, APLD CA provides a directory to find professional landscape designers who can apply plant knowledge and design expertise to create landscapes suited to a site’s conditions and the client’s vision.
