Appalachian Power is a trusted brand that has been providing reliable electric service to customers in Virginia for many years. They offer a wide range of products and services to meet the diverse needs of their customers. For Virginia's non-residential customers with a minimum load of five megawatts (5 MW), Appalachian Power provides the option to choose a Competitive Service Provider (CSP) for their electricity generation.

These CSPs, which can be retail generation providers or aggregators, offer competitive pricing and other benefits to meet the specific needs of businesses. Smaller non-residential customers who do not meet the minimum load threshold can aggregate their load with other customers to maintain the ability to choose a CSP. An aggregator, such as a local government or organization, negotiates the price and other details for electric supply service on behalf of the group.

All electric providers in Virginia, including CSPs, must be licensed by the Virginia State Corporate Commission (SCC) and register with Appalachian Power. By offering choice and flexibility, Appalachian Power ensures that their customers have access to cost-effective and reliable electricity solutions that meet their unique needs
