APPC Faro, the Faro branch of the Portuguese Association for Cerebral Palsy, has worked since 1982 to promote inclusion, autonomy and quality of life for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. The association supports individuals and their families, advocates for the rights of people with disabilities, and develops services and projects aimed at rehabilitation, skills development, social participation, culture and leisure.
Its ten social services include early childhood intervention, outpatient rehabilitation, and resource centres for inclusion and employment. It also provides activity and inclusion programmes, residential care, independent-living support, a Centre for Life Support, guidance on assistive products, and independent living assistance. Alongside these services, APPC Faro develops initiatives such as a community garden, equine-assisted therapy, holiday activities and programmes to support independent living.
The organisation also shares news and events, offers volunteering and placement opportunities, and welcomes donations, members and partnerships. Based in Faro, APPC Faro invites the community to help remove barriers and advance inclusion.
