As a STAR 4 childcare center, they are dedicated to offering a safe and nurturing environment for children. Recently, Appletree received funding from the Fund for Quality (FFQ), in partnership with the William Penn Foundation and the Public Health Management Corporation, to expand their facilities and create 40 PHL PREK seats. This expansion allows families in the neighborhood, who may not have access to other subsidies, the opportunity to benefit from free high-quality childcare.

The funding from FFQ also enabled Appletree to redesign their space, creating two sun-soaked classrooms with in-class cot storage and bathrooms. The teachers at Appletree are passionate about providing a diverse and inclusive learning environment, incorporating materials and lessons that reflect the changing community. They strive to build trust with each child and help them feel safe and accepted.
