About Rajunganindonesia
Asosiasi Pengelolaan Rajungan Indonesia (APRI) is dedicated to the sustainable management of Indonesia's blue swimming crab, a vital marine resource. Established in Jakarta on July 6, 2007, APRI plays a crucial role in supporting more than 90,000 fishermen and 185,000 women involved in crab processing across the country. The organization promotes responsible harvesting practices through its Fishery Improvement Program (FIP), focusing on stock assessments, enhancements, and the creation of community-based fishery management.
APRI collaborates with universities, government bodies, and various stakeholders to establish guidelines for ethical fishing and conservation efforts. Their initiatives aim to increase crab recruitment and ensure that crab populations are managed sustainably for future generations. By addressing both economic and ecological challenges, APRI champions the cause of balancing seafood production with environmental health. As they navigate changing consumer demands for ethical seafood, APRI remains a leader in promoting sustainable practices within Indonesia's crab fishery industry.
