About Afghans for Progressive Thinking
Afghans for Progressive Thinking (APT) is a youth-led nonprofit organization in Afghanistan that is dedicated to addressing human rights crises, with a special focus on women’s rights. APT also aims to promote girls’ access to education through impactful initiatives. Since its establishment in 2010, APT has made a significant impact, inspiring over 60,000 youth and children to envision a just and inclusive society.
APT offers a range of programs and services to achieve its goals. The organization conducts a Leadership Development Program, which focuses on building the leadership capabilities of its debate clubs and Afghan university students. Additionally, APT provides Mentorship and Coaching programs, which aim to enhance the critical thinking and reflective writing skills of young women in Afghanistan.
Furthermore, APT organizes Debate Programs, structured arguments and discussions that allow for logical arguments on opposing viewpoints. Through their various initiatives, APT strives to empower Afghan youth, advocate for human rights, and create lasting positive change in Afghan society
