Independent Aquatic Imports Ltd is a UK-based specialist importer and distributor of ornamental fish, invertebrates, and aquatic plants. Founded in 1999, the company supplies quality aquatic livestock exclusively to wholesalers and consolidated importers, rather than individual retailers. Retail enquiries are directed to trusted trade partners.
The company sources from more than 40 suppliers across over 20 countries, including partners that are exclusive to Independent Aquatic Imports. Its range covers tropical freshwater, coldwater, and marine livestock, as well as aquatic plants for ponds and aquariums. The team maintains regular contact with suppliers and visits partners to support sourcing and service.
Independent Aquatic Imports provides weekly shipments to the UK, with most arriving at its Heathrow premises on Tuesdays when routing allows. It also offers same-day delivery throughout mainland Great Britain using its dedicated vehicles. Shipments include relevant health certificates and CITES permits, with Border Force compliance handled on customers’ behalf. Approved trade accounts are required to access stock lists and weekly shipment schedules; prospective customers can apply for an account.
