Aqui Há Gato is a children’s bookshop in Santarém, Portugal, bringing literature, psychology, education and art together around a shared purpose: children’s happiness. The shop offers children’s books for ages from birth to 10 and older, with titles organised by age, publisher, style, activity and theme. Its selection includes poetry, interactive and pop-up books, stories about emotions and family, and books on subjects such as dinosaurs, nature and the seasons. Customers can also find books written by Sofia, the person behind many of the stories and adventures inspired by cats.

Beyond bookselling, Aqui Há Gato creates opportunities for children and families to enjoy stories and creative activities. Its programme includes storytime sessions, art workshops, activities for babies and school holidays, puppet theatre, themed evenings and sessions for schools and municipalities. The bookshop also shares videos and storytelling content online and offers guidance for anyone choosing a book to give as a present.
